In keeping with the spirit of the previous post. I came across this video where Elder Pearson discusses Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The purpose of Faith, what Faith is, how faith is developed. A very important message for those who are attempting to understand what truly defines the LDS teaching and understanding of what it is we believe.
Here, Pearson discusses the 6 D’s that negatively impact ones faith. However, the whole video of Elder Pearsons talk can be seen here 179th General Conference and go down to the Saturday Afternoon session where you can select either Windows media player or quick time to view the video.

I hope you will allow me to call you Tim.. I go by Jim.. We are on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to religion. I met you on CARM, I think you remember me now.. I was reading your apology thread. Sometime I don’t feel like getting everyone involved in my comments. Tim don’t feel sorry for any opinions you have discussed. I can’t do so on my part.. I am convinced that mormonism is wrong and is leading good people like you to the Lake of Fire.. Even if many times it looks as though I am filled with hate it is against that idea. The idea that you will be lost.. And yes I hate that.. I will go to any extent to prevent that.. I hope you understand.
Other that this religion thing I hope we can be friends.. I live in Utah, you I Washington.. You most likely wish you could live Here I would like to live there.. I sail you see. The Great Salt Lake is getting a bit boring..
I am former LDS.. I have read the BofM three times. I have no desire to read it again. When I was kid and the plan of salvation was a topic in Sunday School classes, or in a priesthood quorum meeting I wondered how the others didn’t understand it.. It was clear to me. I haven’t lost that knowledge of the church. It will always be with me.. I will do all I can to point out the errors.. If you see that I am wrong. Say so, or if you want to discuss it in depth email me.. Again I hope this doesn’t get in the way of friendship.. What I have seen of you is admirable.. We both want truth right?
I would like to hold you up to my Lord about your job situation.. Would that be alright with you? Hoping to hear from you soon IHS jim

Jim,
Tim is definitely fine here. And, yes, I definitely understand that we are on opposite sides of the fence when it comes to the Modern Evangelical Christian Faith and the Latter-day Saint Christian Faith.

Thank you, and yes. I have decided to pick and choose my battles. Regarding my apology, I felt it of necessity because of how I was starting to behave and communicate. That was what I was apologizing for. I have experienced on both sides of the fence in various discussion forums.

I do understand where you are coming from, especially since I had left the Mormon Faith years ago and embraced Modern Christianity. I understand that some people are very concerned for the spiritual welfare of everyone. It is something that some need to understand and comprehend. I have not seen you use any form of speech that would be construed as hateful. Unlike some of the things that other Evangelical Christian CARM members have used and have actually been allowed to get away with using without any punishment from the moderators. But, that is neither here or there.

Definitely understand where you are coming from there. Friendships are always good, despite differences. I do appreciate the prayer, it is tough out there and many others are getting frustrated with this whole thing. Funny thing is that I had felt something like this was a long way coming. I still feel that it is just the tip of the iceberg.
I do hope that you will take the time to review some of the things that I post here because they are from my own personal studies and research. Much of what I post here would not be allowed to post over at CARM because I have tried when I first came to CARM as a Mormon, such posts got deleted, blocked, and I even got banned for Rule violations when there were no rule violations. The only reason such occurred is because I actually was providing reasonable sound defenses against many of the arguments and people really started looking into it. But, that is my own opinion with a hint of egotism there lol.
