Have you made peace with your past? If so, congratulations. However, if you are mired in the quicksand of regret, shame, and guilt, it's time to plan your escape. How are you able to do so? By accepting what has been and by trusting God for what will be.
By setting pure intentions and living with purpose and meaning through Jesus Christ, other people's opinion and understanding of who we are becomes unimportant. We are not here to please others. And, when it comes to our opinion of ourselves - we adopt the eternal perception of who we are through Christ Jesus. Sons and Daughters of the Most High.
If we are to recognize evil and fight it, we must pay careful attention. We must pay attention to God's Word, and we must pay attention to the realities of everyday life.
How do we show encouragement toward others? Even those who have a different faith than we do? Or, those who do not even believe in God and Jesus Christ? Simple. We show kindness toward others.
Our faith grows by expression as well as by a consistent spiritually disciplined and dedicated life. If we cultivate it, nourish it, and fortify it, and act on it - we shall have no problem sharing our faith with others.
Today, let us be cheerful and encourage one another. Let us be a blessing to others and lift them up. Let us honor Christ through gratitude and thanksgiving. For He has given us peace and joy.
Life truly has its struggles, and we face them the best we are capable in facing them. We endure as faithfully as possible. Hoping doors of opportunity of true fellowship may open up. To see through the circumstances, we are facing and receive those blessings we stand in need of.
How do we sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron? Through spiritual disciplines and discipleship. It is founded upon the key virtue of all other virtues and that is contrition of spirit and humility. It is our willingness to allow ourselves to submit to our Heavenly Father's authority and in fellowship with others to be submitted to their authority.
Our Heavenly Father is a God of possibilities. And the greatest wisdom reminds us that there are many reasons for us to be confident in the Lord (See Proverbs 3:26 and 14:26). And one of those reasons is so that the Holy Spirit may work through us in revealing our own personal weaknesses

This is how we are empowered to be one in will and purpose. To heal, to mourn, and to lift one another up. It is all about how we are willing to give ourselves over to develop those relationships that will endure with sound mind and teaching.
For today - I seek God's grace, the forgiveness of my sins through the infinite power of the atonement and continue my path toward that blessed hope and inheritance. It is because of the voice of Grace that I shall be in paradise with my Savior and my Heavenly Father.
Healing from the emotional pain and navigating away from the victim role required that I come to a place of forgiving myself. It also resonates with how I needed to come to a place of forgiving those who mistreated me - who blamed me.
Scripture teaches that I am to examine myself since Christ is in me (2 Corinthians 13:5). Two reasons this is important for me to keep in mind. First, it is to determine if I am heading in the right direction, my feet planted firmly on the path to continued spiritual growth. Second, to prove myself that I am consistently giving myself over to Christ and carrying my cross each day. Putting to death those old things since I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
True spiritual success is when we step out of the Saviors way of healing and restoring and instead work with Him. This is what he called us to do. To go forth, make disciples, teaching others all that he has commanded, and know that He is with us always (Matthew 28:19-20).
No one else is capable of living my own life. I am responsible for my life. I am responsible for my own recovery. And because of this I either wallow in worry and become lazy and complacent. Critical and judgmental. Where I am not receiving any blessings, any healing, and any restoration. However, if I submit over to God's will and care, faithful walk-in spirit and truth to what He has in store for me and allow the Holy Spirit to guide me - then I will receive those promised rewards He has prepared for me.
Our Testimony is the armor of God the Apostle Paul references in Ephesians 6:11-17 (See also, D&C 27:15-18). And it is vital to our faith, our progress toward maturing in our faith, and going forward with meaning and purpose.
Our call to go forward with faith and purpose in the new year is meant for us to examine ourselves and determine whether or not we truly place full confidence in who Christ is, in the teachings of the pure doctrines of Christ, and trust in those personal revelations he has given us. Trust in Christ means we go forward with faith, despite any doubts we may have. Despite our perceived inadequacies. For if we go forward in faith, with purpose, we are blessed to accomplish those things we are called to accomplish. For if we go forward in faith, with purpose, we are able to do the things our Heavenly Father has commanded us to do.
Our mortality is a test where we are to gain a vision and understanding of who Christ is, thereby gaining understanding of who our Heavenly Father is. Having this vision helps us go forward in faith and purpose because we know who we are and where we are heading.
True, and authentic Christian faith and living, rests on the pure doctrine of Christ where life is about letting our Heavenly Father use us for His purpose and not for our own gain and sense of satisfaction. The Apostle Paul taught that for those who are carnally minded are set against the true things of God. However, those who are spiritually minded are such because they have set their hearts and minds on God for life and peace (Romans 8:6).
The only help I am able to give is to offer grace and compassion. Pray for them. Pray for wisdom and guidance in how I may be able to comfort and support them. Listen and empathize with them. Sit with them in silence. We do not ever want to feel trapped.
James Pack maintains his own website and wrote up quite a profound and honest piece. A very honest and straightforward perception on one's experience with feeling abandoned. And, the most gut-wretched profound insight was this: ...where is everyone else? What happened to all the people who said they cared about me? I claim part of … Continue reading What you may not know

There are those oft days of light and happiness that dispel the sadness. Yet, they are fleeting. As fleeting as the summer days we've so far experienced here for June. Inevitably, the rain comes, the darkness swells, and the days grow gloomy and despondent. We either allow ourselves to sink deeper and withdraw further into our suffocating sadness; or, we do the courageous and difficult task of pulling ourselves out of despair by focusing on the hope and light of God's love, mercy, and grace.
Depression forces the individual into a feeling of sadness that persists for long periods and significantly interferes with one’s ability to perform everyday tasks, at home, school or work. ~ Krishnee Appadoo It is a very dark place to be. At least when it comes in like a flood. Suffocating any sense of reason. Once … Continue reading Suffering in silence
This is a lasting and eternal peace that gives us confidence, wisdom, and empowerment to endure. It is different than the false sense of security and peace that the world may offer us. Instead of chasing after our illusion of happiness - let us chase after the reality and truth that is found in Jesus Christ.
We show kindness toward others. After all, isn't this what Jesus taught us to do? Show kindness and mercy to others? Is not what his teachings centered on - showing mercy, grace, kindness, and love toward others? How many more souls are we to save and add to the way when we show the same level of compassion, kindness, grace, and mercy toward others who are downtrodden, hopeless, and crumbling faith?
