Your Spiritual Journey

It is not enough to merely confess Christ as our Lord and Savior that makes a spiritual and significant impact. We must walk in obedience to God’s will. Study the scriptures. Live in the center of His divine sovereign will. By doing so, we increase in our faith. We grow in His Grace and truth. We become healthy and strong in the Lord.

God Sees You as You Are

By setting pure intentions and living with purpose and meaning through Jesus Christ, other people's opinion and understanding of who we are becomes unimportant. We are not here to please others. And, when it comes to our opinion of ourselves - we adopt the eternal perception of who we are through Christ Jesus. Sons and Daughters of the Most High.

To Honest Seekers of Truth: Are You Living “Your Truth” or a Lie?

The world today does not appear to comprehend the idea that we are expected to accept and believe eternal truths, or divine answers, before hearing them. Most likely it threatens the confirmation bias of their own right to define their own identity and individual person. Their authentic and true self is a threat when exposed to the eternal truths of our Heavenly Father.

Courage for our spiritual journey

Our duty, and obligation, is to summon the courage it takes to follow God. Despite the difficulty and fearfulness of the path. When we trust our Heavenly Father and follow His Son, Jesus Christ, we are promised not to be led astray.

Humbled by the Cost of His Sacrifice

We ought to be humbled as Christ humbled himself. The cost of our discipleship may never match the cost of Christ's sacrifice. However, our cost of discipleship is our worthy attitude and behavior as we become living sacrifices unto God through faithful obedience (Romans 12:1-2).

A Book Unlike Any Other

The scriptures are a priceless gift unto us as they share with us the message of hope. Of faith. Of fellowship and spiritual growth. We learn from the characters of Godly men and women who have faithfully served God in obedience and fellowship.

Proverbs 27:17 | Spiritual Meaning and Significance of “Iron Sharpening Iron”

How do we sharpen one another as iron sharpens iron? Through spiritual disciplines and discipleship. It is founded upon the key virtue of all other virtues and that is contrition of spirit and humility. It is our willingness to allow ourselves to submit to our Heavenly Father's authority and in fellowship with others to be submitted to their authority.

Choosing Wisely and Courageously

As genuine believers and disciples of Jesus Christ, when we willingly make those choices that are pleasing to our Heavenly Father, we are blessed. Choices that draw us closer to Christ and walk in his footsteps gives us a life that is full of abundance and peace. A life of abundance and peace that are promised to each one of us.

Christian Character and Integrity Count

True Christian character and integrity is a precious pearl of great price that takes time to cultivate and build. It begins with humility and submission to God's divine will for our lives. As the Savior said - no man can truly be His disciple unless he denies himself first, takes up his cross second, and follow Him. It is the sum of every right decision, every honest word, every noble thought, and every heartfelt prayer.

How Christ’s Love Changes Everything

The pure love of Christ is not above obedience to the commandments and will of God. It is inseparable with our call to faithfully obey the will of God and all that he has commanded us. It is also greater than our faith. It requires us to be humble and contrite in our spirit. Keeping us fixed on the way to minister, associate, and develop and grow into a Christ-like character and nature.

A Person of Faith Shall Overcome

Our willingness to trust God today and every day that we live, entrusting ourselves in Christ, we are rest assured that our future is secure. Confident that He will provide our needs temporally and spiritually.

The Strongest Generation

Today, our young men and women face those challenges. It is up to us to lead and guide them. Influence them toward understanding their true divine heritage, divine purpose, and divine destiny. Hold them accountable and give them the discipline they need to continue holding strong to the covenant path of righteousness.

Finding Direction and Inspiration in these Challenging Times

Photo by Heidi Fin on Unsplash It is always a blessing to receive inspiration, insight, and direction. Specifically, in challenging times as what we are facing today. One of the things I look forward to is the monthly edition of the Liahona. And the edition for May 2022 contains all the inspiring messages from the … Continue reading Finding Direction and Inspiration in these Challenging Times

The Patience to Wait for the Vision

What makes my recovery and journey unique is the idea of personal revelation. And what is unique about personal revelation? It is the vision of God for my life. It is His divine will manifested through inspiration in how I am guided.

Founded on a Spiritual Basis

Attempting a recovery program without having a spiritual awakening and without having a power greater than oneself leaves one paralyzed in their active substance use or dysfunctional behavior. Denies the reality of one being humble, contrite in spirit, and seeking liberation from our own problems and situations.

Trait Five

Not only did my view on relationships had to change - the manner in which I had to cultivate a different mindset on relationships had to change. As I started reading the scriptures - I became aware of the need to step back and focus on what really mattered the most. And that was my relationship with my Heavenly Father, and my relationship with Christ.

The Supreme Climb

As we grow in faith, increase in truth and life, move from grace to grace - we come to a greater knowledge and understanding of Christ and the Father. The more we submit ourselves over to the care of God, as we understand Him, we strengthen our faith, our resilience, and are able to endure that much more.

Examine Yourself According to God’s Word

Scripture teaches that I am to examine myself since Christ is in me (2 Corinthians 13:5). Two reasons this is important for me to keep in mind. First, it is to determine if I am heading in the right direction, my feet planted firmly on the path to continued spiritual growth. Second, to prove myself that I am consistently giving myself over to Christ and carrying my cross each day. Putting to death those old things since I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

The Warning Against Desiring Spiritual Success

True spiritual success is when we step out of the Saviors way of healing and restoring and instead work with Him. This is what he called us to do. To go forth, make disciples, teaching others all that he has commanded, and know that He is with us always (Matthew 28:19-20).

Do You Worship the Work?

True freedom and spiritual growth, therefore, begins when I am honest, humble, and submissive to the will and desire of my Heavenly Father. Through his grace and mercy, I am able to do the things required of me and am strengthened as I continue to concentrate on Him and Him alone.

The Light That Never Fails

The Light of Christ is the very brightness and glory of the Father - illuminating and guiding me throughout my life. And as the light pervades the darkness, the Holy Spirit continually exposes those areas that are darken by sin and transgression. Allowing me opportunity to bring those things forth and seek the mercy and grace of my Heavenly Father. Christ being my advocate who is ready to forgive my sin. To cleanse me from all matter of unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Step Two

As for me and my own personal journey and recovery - for my own spiritual growth and mindful living - I choose to consistently and continually to trust in Christ and know who God, my Eternal Father is, and have the guidance and companion of the Holy Spirit. So long as I commit myself over to those spiritual disciplines that help me gain greater awareness, peace of mind, and restoring me to a place of spiritual health and well-being.

Learning to Let Go

My thoughts turn to Proverbs 9:10 - Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. In the serenity prayer, we seek after acceptance, courage, and wisdom. Acceptance in knowing that there are things in life we are not able to control. Courage to make necessary changes in our lives. And wisdom to understand and know the difference between what we need to accept because we can't change it; and courage to strive and make those changes we are able to make.

Don’t Hurt the Lord

This calls my attention to the reality of being mindful and allowing myself to experience the presence of the Spirit in my life. Experiencing the Holy Spirit, the presence of my Heavenly Father is not something that needs to occur in the future. It is something that I have access to in the present moment.
